Good News!

Hey everyone! I had my first day of university today, and there is good news for all of you!
Every student is allocated a peice of their webserver to hold files online, and you can make any amount of that you want public!
Which means, that now for all of my downloads, you do not have to deal with Rapidshare or Mediafire! Direct downloads from me are on the way!

Also, i can use this space to make a website, so there is a possibility that I will have a private website instead of this blog for all upcoming info. This second one is not super likely, as I am only given 100megabytes of space so a "Forum" wouldn't fit on it for very long!

expect me to upload the files to my private space and edit the videos sometime soon.

And in other news, I have been judging away at the contest entrants in my free time, and have widdled it down to the top 7! So expect me to make some tough cuts and get this video out within the next month.

In other, other news, the tutorial is planned to be done by at the latest THIS Saturday - so check your youtube accounts frequently for the new video!

Question Of The Day:
"Have you ever had any trouble with the downloads from sites such as Rapidshare or Mediafire?"

Personally, I never have, but I understand that many users have been hindered, and some even have not been able to begin hacking because of technical difficulties with these sites.

Immense Update!!!!

Alright Everyone! I am back from vacation, and it is time to make a huge announcement post here. This post will cover many of the important events coming up, so be sure to read every section!

Section 01:
Contest Entry Period Is Finished!

That's right! As of August 6th 11:59pm the entry period has been closed, and all the submissions have been finalized. I wish all of those competitors the best of luck!
What this means, is that the judgement phase has now started, and the contest's release video will be out soon!
A huge landmark in my youtube career, the first contest has reached over five thousand views! I have high hopes that the new contest will soar even higher with the help of all the great mods and hacks entered!
Expect the video to be out within the next 2 weeks for sure.

Section 02:
With A Little Help From A Friend... Demonstration Videos!!!

Oh yea, we all have LucSkywalker16 to thank for being such a great supporter of the brawl modding community - he agreed a couple weeks ago to help me run some hacks on his wii, he has a capture card so the videos are of great quality! And hey, how could it be worse than my hand held cam crammed between my legs while trying to play, and talk loud enough for the cam to hear it! A huge huge huge thanks goes out to him again, and if you are also thankful, please sign off below!
Expect these 3 demos to come out gradually over the course of the next week (I want to have something to tide you all over before the contest, and the next tutorial).
The demos he finished (I have to narrate, but the video is done (And superbly if I may say so again)) are:
Animated Stage Platform
Battle Portraits
Non-Stretching Animation Swapping

Thanks again LucSkywalker16!!!

Section 03:
Poll Results And Tutorial Update!

The poll is now closed as you all can see, and I am amazed at the massive amount of votes on it! The highest count yet at 103 votes, thanks so much for the effort guys!
Of course, CSS Organiser is the winner, and from the time I added it to the poll, to now, the second version of it has come out, so I will cover that instead. Congratulations to everyone who voted for this, you are all getting what you want!
Expect this tutorial to come out sometime in the next week and a half, definately before the contest video, but after the new demos mentioned above.

Section 04:
General Updates On Some Videos.

It has been brought to my attention that some things on my "Non-Stretching" tutorial could have been better, so I will add annotations for all the people who want to get max results out of their mods!
Expect the annotations on the videos by the end of this week.

Also, a great guy (Or group perhaps) named HuzzahGames have created a MAC version of Brawlbox for download on a thread here:
http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?p=10852659
This version is completely compatible with all mac computers so all of you... disadvantaged users can get in the fun now easily! Please read the entire Opening Post he makes, as there is a Q&A and a download link for the file. Thanks again HuzzahGames!
I will be updating "Downloading Of All Necessary Files" description by adding this link, and adding annotations to the video, so let all your mac user 'friends' know!

Section 05:
Removal Of Old Videos.

Sadly, my old videos do not suite the needs of my fans, and were all uploaded a long time ago. I have decided to remove all of the videos not related to Brawl, or 3DS Max, or my demo reel type things from my youtube account. If you enjoyed any of them, and want to see them a last time, do so quickly because I will be removing them by the end of the day at the latest.

Section 06:
I Start University In A Week!

That's a fact! Next week my orientation at VFS (Vancouver Film School) starts, which means that the week AFTER the orientation (2 weeks from now) I will be starting there full time! Sadly, this means that for all of you my ability to maintain constant videos may be diminished. I will try my absolute hardest to work on my tutorial and demonstration videos in my free time, but anyone who goes to school or has a full time job can tell you that there are definately times when you have NO free time.
I would therefore really like to ask everyone to help me out by following the directions in my PMs on youtube. Having some money to go around and live is always great, and any amount that reduces my university costs is greatly appreciated. If I have cash to just play around with, I won't have to do contract jobs (Mowing Lawns, Raking Leaves, etc) in my spare time to earn money, which in turn lets me make more videos for all of you! So thank you to anyone who helps me out, and please remember that if you love my videos, you can donate through paypal by the link on my youtube channel.
Thanks everyone, wish me luck!

I think that is everyone I have to say... I will be updating my blog as I release new videos like the 3 demos, tutorial, and contest results, but I will try to leave this message up as long as I can so everyone gets a chance to read it. And since you are here already, please check out the new poll if it is up, and help me out by visiting any of the advertisement links you are interested in - they love to have you stop by their sites and learn mroe about their product!

Thanks again everyone!

.OBJ Model Importing Voted Out!

Hey, this post is a bit late, but I did not want it stepping on the toes of the new tutorials post. The tutorial for importing .OBJ models was flawed from the get-go so don't feel like you have been robbed of any opportunities, and I promise you, that if there is a better method out there (Or one becomes available in the future) I will cover that in a tutorial. Thanks for all the votes, and please enjoy all of my tutorials!

Question Of The Day:
"Did you like or dislike my new mic in my last tutorial?"

I ask because I got it as a gift, but I think it was picking up my breathing as it is a headset, not like the mic I used before which had a stand that I put on my desk. The benefit of the headset is that you do not get the noises of my clicking (As much) nor the noises of me doing pen tricks and typing on my keyboard. The downside is obviously the breathing thing - however I may be able to move the actual mic part of the headset away from my breathing area to aleviate that issue. So please sign off below on which one you think is the best, and I hope to please everyone with the end choice! Thanks!

Non-Stretching Animation Swapping Is Live!

Hey everyone, check out the new tutorial added to the roster - it will be the last one until after I come home from vacation (Coming home on the 15th) so make it last!
I will add a new poll, and have that also conclude on the 15th. Also, the contest ends on a day that I am away (If I remember correctly) so I will not be accepting any entrants from that point on, even though I am not here to receive them (I can see the time sent on my email, and youtube emails me when I get PM's).
So thanks to everyone who entered, and good luck to everyone in the contest. Enjoy the tutorial!

Brawl Modding Tutorial - Non-Stretching Animation Swapping

The tutorial for making your animation swaps, not stretch out of proportion!
I highly recommend that you watch the tutorial before this, "Animation Swapping" first because a lot of theory and steps are explained in a lot more detail. this tutorial ended up going 4 minutes long (Ouch!) which mean you will see (And hear) a lot of quick cuts.
Please note that at the end, I just end the video after saying "We are done" - the location you put the file in is explained in the tutorial mentioned above, so again I urge you to watch that if you havn't.
Also, I used my new microphone (Headset) for this tutorial, please let me know what you think of it in comparison to my other videos where I use my standard mic - is this one better, worse, etc? Thanks so much!
